Equatorial Guinea President Meets Saudi King in Historic Establishment of Relations Between Two Countries

Jeddah – During his heralded state visit, H.E. President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo Guinea, met His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in the Royal Palace today in a historic establishment of diplomatic and trade relations between the two countries. The meeting between the two heads of state took place as Equatorial Guinea hosts the first ever Equatorial Guinea-Saudi Arabia Economic Forum in Jeddah on May 11.


Ministers of Foreign Affairs H.E. Agapito Mba Mokuy and H.E. Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir signed new cooperation agreements including a memorandum of understanding and mutual political and diplomatic consultations, as well as a framework cooperation agreement between the two countries. The agreements laid the groundwork for expanding trade and diplomatic ties ahead of the forum on May 11.
